Jess Emily Smith
First hitting the stage at the age of 8, Jess Smith is a veteran performer.
From singing in the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games to featuring in the annual School Spectacular for ten years; a 2005 Graduate of the Talent Development Project and a featured Encore Vocalist, performing Live at the Sydney Opera House, Jess has continued to create her unique sound ever since, all over Australia and the United States.
Known as the “go to” backing vocalist, Jess has sang on ARIA charting albums, performed in Nashville at the CMA Fest and Australia’s own CMAA Tamworth Country Music Festival. Smith has shared the stage with The McClymonts, Casey Donovan, Morgan Evans, Travis Collins and Angus & Julia Stone, and opened shows for Human Nature and Travis Collin.
Jessica has collaborated with some of Australian, American and Irish music royalty, including but not limited to: Phil Burton (Human Nature), Mollie McClymont (The McClymonts), Katrina Burgoyne, Tori Darke, William Crighton, Alyssa Trahan , Mark Narmore, Hannah May Alison & Lisa McHugh.
Influenced by Jewel, Alison Kraus, Kasey Chambers, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, you can expect to hear a country/pop influence with Smith’s own stamp and signature sound.
With a range that covers a relaxed Sunday afternoon acoustic vibe all the way through to a front of house vibrancy that will fill a room with her powerful, country influenced vocals. Jess’ real joy lies in performing her passionate and heart-felt original compositions with her acoustic guitar.
In 2019, Jessica is set to embark on the next stages of her writing and performing, returning to the studio to produce some amazing new pieces.
